THE AUSTRALIAN CRICKET TEAM, THE GLORY DAYS, THE BAGGY GREEN & SHANE WARNE
Yes, it was a strange dream for me. But God’s saying something TO AUSTRALIA. God has been highlighting the Australian cricket team to me. Last week (22nd October) I dreamt about the Aussie cricket team. What is funny, is I don’t follow or like cricket at all!! (sorry cricket fans) I’ve likened Cricket to watching grass grow in the past so having a dream about it I knew was God 🙂
In the dream, past & current players were in a cabin in lock-down similar to “The Shack” and I knew God was using this time to speak to their hearts.
THIS SUMMER SEASON: PRAY FOR SHANE WARNE, MITCHELL JOHNSON, NATHAN LYONS AND THE WIDER CRICKET FAMILY
I sensed something significant was going to happen this summer season. I’m not sure what it is but this summer will stand out. In my dream Shane Warne, Mitch Johnson, and Nathan Lyons were highlighted and significant to what was unfolding. I felt David Warner was significant too in a different way. I felt urgency to pray for them and the entire cricket team right now. (I have since researched a little and know some of the back stories but with the exception of Shane Warne, I didn’t even know their names before the dream) In the dream, their hearts we’re searching for meaning, and God was orchestrating opportunities to connect with his love, and encounter Him in their deep soul searching.
The crazy thing is, I knew Shane Warne but as I said, I had to look up who Mitch Johnson and Nathan Lyons and the rest of the team were. (I had no idea if they were even cricket players, let alone their story) My point, I understood that if God was showing me them that something significant is taking place. It also made me smile that God knew about Cricket! 🙂
I saw deep conversations, restoration, deep soul searching and reflection, and healing of inner disappointments with them and in past and present players and the wider Cricket Australia. I woke up praying for them, especially for salvation and Gods best for them. I was praying restoration of family connections that add life and love to their lives. I was aware there was a far bigger picture at play, that what was going on was impacting the entire Cricket Australia family, but by extension it was extremely significant for the nation.
NATIONAL SOUL SEARCHING
I knew in part, this dream was symbolic of what is being stirred in the heart of Australia. A deep soul searching for meaning, purpose and values.
This national introspection of what really matters is being eagerly met by God who is brooding over hearts and stirring hunger for deep, meaningful spiritual identity and transformation. Australians are more ripe for harvest than we realise. I was aware in the dream of the rawness of hearts, and sense of readiness for God encounters. I could hear conversations behind closed doors asking God questions and seeking meaning.
RESURGENCE OF THE GLORY DAYS
In the dream, their was a HUNGER for the resurgence of the “glory days” stirring. I knew there was a maturing of core values taking place in the cricket team that was deeper than personal development. There was a spiritual open door to their hearts and salvation that required praying into. The heart journey was impacting their performance as a team for the better. I believe also, God’s glory is going to visit them. I saw media interest as they asked for privacy whilst this personal metamorphosis and transformation was taking place.
HUNGER FOR GOD’S GLORY THIS SUMMER
This raw hunger for resurgence of “glory days” mirrored the glory days that upon Australia this Summer. God’s glory is visiting the nation from every family to sporting stadium and the highest of offices in the season unfolding now, and the media will take note. We will see more and more influential people encounter God.
In a sense, I believe families and people all over the nation of Australia are re-evaluating their heart values right now and looking for answers. This heart assessment is largely going on behind closed doors currently, but it will spill out as harvest cracks open. The media will document the process in some cases. Look for stories of well known Australians finding God.
SHANE WARNE & NATHAN LYON
I particularly felt drawn to Shane Warne and Nathan Lyon in the dream. May God infuse their hearts with new purpose. It felt as though the heart journey they are on is important for them individually and for Australia as a nation. As the connection and rivalry between these two grows, I saw them sharing a similar path to God’s heart. Resurgence was a word highlighted to me. I sensed grace was important for them. I awoke with a heart to pray for their God given call and their hearts to discover God’s healing.
HONOUR AND INTEGRITY were again at the table that I saw the cricket team feasting from. This journey is raw and I sensed great pain behind the doors of “the shack” in the dream and a very real call to pray. Honour is an Australian value that will mark our nation in a new and profound way partly through the journey this national iconic sport is going on. I felt to pray protection over the journey that what God was doing would be preserved.

I’m equally praying for the entire cricket team and greater Aussie cricket family, as I sensed God is doing something significant and symbolic. They are in a season of heart healing and reviving transformation. God is visiting them. I’m praying for their hearts to know him and for God to send harvesters to them.
THE BAGGY GREEN
Integrity and honour has always been associated with the “baggy green” which embodied all Australia takes pride in, but it has taken a hit. This is not dissimilar to a story going on all over Australia in different spheres. Australians have become disillusioned observing many instances when treasured values of fair play and integrity were seemingly disgraced. We may have held our sporting hero’s to an unrealistic god-like status at times, but something real and deep within the heart of Australia longs for hero’s and statesman we are proud of. The baggy green symbolically stood for honour, character, integrity, pure heart motives, excellence, sacrifice for others, courage and loyalty. These values indeed mark the heart of Australia and equally the growing hunger for them has only highlighted our yearning for “something more”. I see the yearning for those values as a God given hunger for His heart, purpose and values that can only be found in Him. It’s a national heart journey, that if surrounded in prayer, is leads to an encounter with the Father.
PRAY FOR HARVEST
Keep praying! It’s important what God is doing in Australia is surrounded in prayer. And step out, people are actively looking for God.
REDEFINING THE GOOD OLE GLORY DAYS
There is a cry in heart of Australians for a return to the good ole glory days, but I see a redefining of what that even means to people. I believe this soul searching is God initiated and God stirred, as Australia is about to experience the greatest of Glory days! The Glory of God is about to be poured out over the nation in unprecedented measure. The greatest of glory days are upon you Australia!
GOD IS REDEEMING OUR NATIONAL GOD GIVEN IDENTITY// GREAT EXPLOITS// GREAT DAYS// GREAT SOUTHLAND
The LION is roaring over Australia and restoring hope. The enemy wants to destroy our identity as a nation and people, but God is redeeming, restoring, reviving and raising up our national identity and values as those God placed uniquely over us as a people. The great Southland of the Holy Spirit is our identity and call, not just a name. We are called to greatness in the spirit and to walk in greatness as a people. Great exploits are not only exciting and fulfilling, but something deep within the DNA of Aussies thrives as we take on impossible and see it shift to possible. Australia is not called to mediocre, or ordinary. Australia is uniquely called by God as a nation that takes down Goliath’s with supreme courage, faith and inspirational boldness. The nation will celebrate greatness in each other with new honour in this hour, as God is raising up GREAT leaders, pioneers, innovators, specialists and anointed forerunners of revival and reformation that will carry a spirit of greatness.
MARVEL STADIUM
I can’t write this without acknowledging Awakening Australia (16-18 Nov 2018) that is about to be held in the stadium now aptly re-named Marvel Stadium in Melbourne. This is a starters gun in the spirit signally a new day of great exploits in, and birthed from, Australia. There is new breed of faith hero arising and they are those marked by the Holy Spirit that will run with courage carrying light into darkness. Australia is about to see the unveiling of the GREATNESS OF HIS HOLY SPIRIT CARRIED BY A MULTITUDE OF PEOPLE WHO ARE UNASHAMED OF GOD’S GREATNESS AND COURAGEOUSLY DOING GREAT EXPLOITS. Australia is a nation marked for His glory and His Glory will be poured out in new measure, especially over this summer. These are GREAT days.
