HOW TO SEE INCREASE OF MIRACLES IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD
Matthew 13:54 -  “He (Jesus) returned to Nazareth, his hometown. When he taught there in the synagogue, everyone was amazed and said, “Where does he get this wisdom and the power to do miracles?” Then they scoffed, “He’s just the carpenter’s son, and we know Mary, his mother, and his brothers—James, Joseph,[f] Simon, and Judas. All his sisters live right here among us. Where did he learn all these things? And they were deeply offended and refused to believe in him. Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his own family.” And so he did only a few miracles there because of their unbelief.”

WHO ARE YOU SO FAMILIAR WITH IN YOUR WORLD, THAT YOU CAN NO LONGER RECEIVE FROM THEM?
A good question to ask ourselves is, are there people in our world that we consider “just the carpenters’ son” and so we refuse to see God in them? When we get to know someone, we find out their journey and story and see the person behind the gift….. and we can be tempted to no longer honour God in them because we think, oh that’s JUST “so and so”. Family and kingdom relationship is intended to be the greatest of blessings in our lives…… familiarity will rob you of the blessing that is intended to come to you through those closest to you if you will only receive through a voice you haven’t seen their “journey” and don’t know their story.

Honour is a choice. Honour is choice especially in those closest to you. Honour those in your own “hometown”. Honour those God has placed “up close and personal to you”. An entire region missed out on what Jesus carried because they couldn’t see past “but we know you”. Jesus wanted to bless his hometown… but they couldn’t see past “his story” to allow him to make “history”. That’s so sad to me.

Honour releases miracles, just as unbelief prevents them. We all want to see increase of miracles in our own backyard... perhaps it starts with honouring those God has already placed in our own backyard.

What am I really saying?…….. sometimes we find it easier to receive from a guest ministry, a voice on the internet we don’t know, or a word we’ve heard from someone disconnected relationally from us…….. (and God uses all this, and will continue to, so please don’t hear what I’m not saying). My point is: if we cannot receive from those nearest us because we see their stuff and know their story…….. then we are missing out on some significant breakthroughs and its time for an honour upgrade in our hearts. Jesus never intended for his hometown to miss out on what he carried…… it was their lack of honour and their inability to see past “but he grew up here” that prevented them receiving what Jesus had wanted to give them. Oh how sad…… miracles were missed out on because they didn’t think one of their own could carry heaven in such a way as to bring breakthough in their own backyard…

Jesus, may I honour those you have placed around me so I can continue to receive ALL you have intended for me to receive in my own backyard from those in my own backyard. Grow honour in my heart for those you have placed around me…… let me see with eyes of honour so that I can receive everything you desire to pour out right now through those I know right now in the place you have me planted me right now. Thank you God for upgraded honour in my heart today.
