A RECENT VISION OF COMBAT BOOTS
I saw a vision recently whilst preparing for our Revival School, of combat boots “dropping” over people. There were many different kinds of combat boots, and each seemed personalised and custom made for the intended “owner”, but I understood they were for wearing, not just looking at or putting on a shoe rack to wear another day. It was time to put on the combat boots God was releasing.
I saw many individual designs and fits. My eye was drawn to a few different boots that captured my attention. One was rugged and chunky, with mud already on them as if a testament to battles already fought that readied the owner for the fierce terrain ahead.
FRESH AS A DAISY
My eye was drawn to some hot pink combat boots with daisies on them. The daisies reminded me of the saying “fresh as a daisy”, symbolising new strength and reviving. I discovered the Old English origin of the name daisy means “Day’s Eye”, referring to the way daisies close their petals every evening and reopen them every morning at dawn, marking the beginning of a new day! The daises speak of fresh reviving for a new beginning. A new day of new victories that were previously unheard of. The weary, are being revived, restored and freshened up for a new day.
I saw many other colours and shapes of combat boots that were personalised, creative and unique, yet all were sturdy and hard-wearing, built to withstand harsh conditions. I noticed the sole as they all had rugged soles that I understood were designed to grip any terrain and not slip in any conditions… it enable the wearer to stand, march and advance. These combat boots prepared the wearer for battle.
I took note that every person had their own boots available that were customised and perfectly fitted to their personality, gift mix and journey. They fit their feet perfectly, and were comfortable to wear, though they came with fresh focus and knowing that these boots were for war. It was a choice to put them on but it required taking off the old, to put on the new. When the new was put on, there was an upgrade of grace and authority to “take previously un-chartered, and unconquered territory”.
It was as if these combat boots came with in-built courage releasers and were catalyst for a fresh wave of invigorating hope and strength. These boots transformed “civilians into soldiers”, and equipped the wearer with much needed strength and skill, even increased authority, to scatter darkness where these boots trod.
I then saw Jesus offering to tenderly fit his people with their combat boots for the season. This was a tender moment as Jesus kneeled before each person ready to receive the “new”. Many had worn boots before, but these were new, they were for new battles that led to new breakthrough. There was only tenderness in this moment as Jesus placed new combat boots on each person. Tears were the response of many, as they knew Jesus understood what it took to get to this moment. Jesus saw the courage and faithfulness of the past season, and equally honoured their sacrifice to keep believing even in the trenches of faith. .
TAKE OFF LAST SEASONS SHOES
I watched as each person took off their shoes-of-the-last-season before Jesus fitted the new. It was moving, powerful and spoke of fresh consecration. A fresh moment of realigning our commitment to serve God despite the hits of the season, or even because of it. The cost has been great, which makes the fresh surrender sweeter. Jesus is worthy even when it’s hard.
CONSECRATE YOURSELVES
I am reminded of Joshua 3:5, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you.”
We must consecrate “ourselves”. Only YOU can choose to consecrate yourself again. There is a holy call right now to the seasoned warriors, it’s time to consecrate yourself AGAIN. There’s new territory to take, new promise land battles to win. It’s time to put on the combat boots again.It’s holy as the seasoned warriors understand the cost, and there is a trumpet sound calling for the faithful to do battle in the heavenlies. But first, remove the residue of the past seasons battles. This consecration process is a fresh counting the cost, and giving a considered “costly yes” for whatever it takes to break open this season for all out revival, harvest and reformation. This is a critical juncture, where our children will live in the consequence of what we choose to fight for, or not fight for.
FEET FITTED WITH READINESS FOR THE GOSPEL OF PEACE
As customised combat boots were placed on the bride, I was reminded of the Ephesians 6:10-18 “armour of God” and the need to intentionally put this on everyday! Scripture tells us much about our feet and shoe-wear!
Ephesians 6:15, ”and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.”
PUT ON THE COMBAT BOOTS THAT TAKE GROUND FOR THE GOSPEL
The combat boots are symbolic of fresh readiness to release the gospel of peace to a harvest that is desperate for hope! The harvest is ripe, and ready for the gospel. Souls are ready for the hope of the gospel. A new super-charged upgrade for battle, and authority to speak peace to the chaos and storms of this era. We are not without solutions and power, but instead are being equipped with fresh authority to smash these strongholds and see new, needed breakthroughs. Giants that seem invincible will come down again as the body puts on her combat boots. The gospel is good news and God is equipping his people for harvest of souls, solutions and courage to advance into victory. The boots are for advancement of the kingdom, not for retreat. Put them on, decree Goliaths still fall. Put on the readiness of the gospel of peace and be ready to give real people hope in Jesus that they are desperate for. Souls are coming in.
READINESS!
Are you ready? It’s the hour of “being ready”. Getting ready is for the purpose of being ready when it counts. There are “Jericho walls” that must come down NOW by the shout of a readied army. There is a readiness that comes from knowing you are anointed for the season and circumstances facing you. You are equipped with customised power and authority for the current challenges. Anointing is being upgraded for the specific breakthroughs needed to advance in your call and promise-land. And you are called to bring hope and good news in the places God has you. You, are in a war, but you are fitted with the right armour and anointing to bring solutions and hope. You have authority to take down the so called impenetrable walls that are saying it’s impossible, but it requires “putting on” our shout and marching with authority to the battle. Sitting back in despair, intimidation or perpetual rest will keep us from new era breakthroughs and the stories of current day Goliath victories that our children desperately need to see the army of God win.
THE DEVIL IS BEING DISPLACED FROM TERRITORY HE THOUGHT HE OWNED WITH FIERY INTERCESSION
There is a fresh wave of fire for intercession and breakthrough worship-warfare is being released. Where there has been weariness of heart, fresh strengthening is happening. The bride is being fitted with strength to march into new territory. It’s a season of the fresh wind of supernatural strengthening… those who hope on the Lord shall renew their strength. Watch as a renewing of strength surges through gatherings and revives tired hearts. The promise is victory, not defeat. It’s the enemy that gets evicted as the bride storms forward with the readiness of the gospel of peace! Be encouraged. Watch as hope re-energises the remnant and the roar of revival breaking becomes common.
THE LIE OF THE “UN-WINABLE” BATTLES IS BEING SMASHED
The devil is being displaced from territory he thought he owned. Here comes a renewed army of God. The lie of “un-winable” battles is being broken with a fresh surge of supernatural hope.
RESISTANCE IS THE SIGN THAT YOUR LAST BREAKTHROUGH HAS TAKEN YOU AS FAR AS IT CAN. “NEW” IS ABOUT TO SMASH OPEN
Constant resistance is often a sign that your last breakthrough has taken you as far as it is able. There’s a NEW breakthrough for you. Press in! New means NEW. New breakthroughs you haven’t walked in before that open up this current season are before you. PUT ON YOUR COMBAT BOOTS. They are for smashing open this season and pushing back arrogant resistance that has intimidated for too long.
THERE’S NOT JUST BREAKTHROUGH, BUT NEW BREAKTHROUGH
When you hit that wall over and and over, there’s not just breakthrough, but new breakthrough to walk in as a NEW NORMAL. The new normal is not meant to be defined by the enemies agenda. THE NEW NORMAL IS MEANT TO BE DEFINED BY PROMISE. Put on your combat boots and find your shout.
FAITH FOR NEW-ERA BREAKTHROUGHS
Many have felt they are bumping into an impenetrable wall they’ve not experienced for a long time as they push for breakthrough right now. This is the sign that the old wineskin has served it’s purpose, and faith for new-era breakthrough is being fitted. Your past breakthroughs served the season, and now there are NEW BREAKTHROUGHS being released. The place your last breakthrough got stuck, is not your ceiling, but your kicking off point for “we haven’t been this way before”.
MODERN DAY JERICHO WALLS WILL FALL AGAIN
God is giving you new territory, which means the areas that have resisted fullness of breakthrough will bow in this season as we are fitted with renewed faith. There’s a shift taking place. We are being readied for battle, but for battle that releases “not seen before” breakthroughs. The breakthroughs that are “un-heard” of until now, and the solutions that have been hidden till now. Revelation and strategies that are sharp and effective, resurrection power for creative miracles, and authority to shift strongholds that have set themselves up as impenetrable cultural “normals” will increasingly be common. These modern-day Jerichos will fall!
Put on your “shout”. Put on your combat boots. Put on your courage. Put on your fight for the gospel As my husband Ben Hughes often says, “we are not fighting against the world, but FOR the world!”. But, it’s a fight. It’s a battle we win, but we must arise and fight it to take new territory. PUT ON YOUR COMBAT BOOTS and march. Our faith is a weapon that once activated, shatters the walls of modern day Jericho’s and awakens contagious, energising faith in the bride.
